to the opening for a wonderful exhibit at the wonderful F.I.T museum. I recently went to see the Isabel Toledo 25 -year retrospective. Now America knows who she is…from the famous “yellow dress” that Michelle Obama wore. As I walked around it was more like a fashion insider retrospective. I saw lots of old friends, new friends and fashion’s famous players. Joey Arias was there! One of my favorite characters. I couldn’t keep my eyes off the people. What about Isabel’s beautiful clothes? I think I will return  to the show in the daylight when they leave.. My eyes will then be able to focus.

-It is a off shoot of Visionaire

-The paper is glossy and thicker than most

-It may cost alittle more, but it is worth it

-The content and photos are extremely edgy

When I first heard about this book and collaboration, I was alittle startled. I just did not see these two going hand in hand. I cannot wait to get my hands on this book. The history, the gems, the boys, the girls, and most of all the elegance. The photographer Bruce Weber and Cartier both exude class, style and beauty. Beauty and the beast this is not…this is more like Beauty squared.

Girl meets Boy, Boy meets Girl…anything goes!!! I cannot wait for this full length CD to come out shortly from this new import group. I have always been drawn to the synth-pop from the 80’s and here we go again. The strong voice with the minimal beats, brings backs memories or yaz, visage and early Sinead O’Conner. Danceteria days, Boybar, Area, all put me in the mood for this music years ago. This time I do not know where it will take me, but it will be razor sharp!!

This was an EPIC show for this band. It was in two parts…the drama of the new and the comedy of the old. This band has talent. I recommend the old first to get a taste of the tame and then the drama of the new. The influences are there: R.E.M, Belle and Sebastian, Jethro Tull, among others. This band has talent and this was a breakthrough concert. They tell stories from an older time and place. This Band from Portland will tingle and tangle your senses.

The summer is almost here and the time is right for Skinny Ties. The best on the block are from Black Fleece. If you didn’t know, this is a new division of Brooks Brothers. I walked into the store on Bleeker St. and wow…I loved the decor and these ties were staring me in the face. The stripes and plaids and gingham checks looked so Great Gatsby! Old World meets New World. The New B.B.

A few years ago I was attracted to a photo up for auction on line. I did not win, however I did win the knowledge of learning about this wonderful  photo master. His shots of buildings and sharp lines made me feel sharp and chic. For those who like this type of thing, check out many of Julius Schulman books on Amazon.  Maybe one day I will bid again and get a photo by genius Julius.

Don’t shoot me…I’m only the number 6. Who would have thought the number 6 would be such a dirty number??  The smell of this wonderful spray is so chic and clean, that you will feel like you are anywhere around the world you dream of. The bronzed tan that this spray gives makes you fell fresh and glowing. Just keep re-applying… so 6 x 6 = 36. Now your covered!

We all know that any time we eat Godiva we feel like dreaming. This time we are dreaming of pearls. I came across these new round chocolate pearls that were so good and not like anything I have ever had. The smooth round small size of these sweets, just slide down like ecstasy. Many flavors are available, but the white pearls are the gems. The slick metal container is so chic… just try pulling these out of your bag. You will feel like a million bucks.
