Who and Why?

-1

All my life it has been about hair. Hair this, hair that…from crewcut to spiked, it has always been a topic of conversation…so I decided to name my site “silver fox”, a term that’s been used to describe me many a times…as you can see, it always goes back to the hair!

Salt and pepper are spices…they are also a hip hop act of the past. But in today’s terms, silver fox seems more relevant than ever, since our evening news is anchored by Anderson Cooper, another “silver fox”… or so they say!

No matter where I go, who I’m with, or what I say it always goes back to the hair, my “silver hair” that is…I hope you enjoy the site as much as I enjoy creating it!

What?

This site is here to help share my edited version of the world of as it relates to:

Style, Music, Events, Cuisine, Home, the Arts and anything that I draw daily inspiration from…

ilovenylgMy life in NYC is filled with so much information and stimulation, that I prefer to process and edit it all in my own special way… and now share it here with you.

People are always asking my why I’m such a “culture vulture”… I guess I just like to fill up my world with as much culture, music and art that I can fit into my busy life! I hope to share some of my discoveries, explorations and adventures from wherever I go around this great city and beyond.

  6. OMG! This is amazing! I had no idea you were doing this! If I only lived in NYC to take advantage of all this! Could you live part time in Savannah and and be the Silver Fox of this city?

  7. what a cool website………full of amazing info, even for a jaded (never!!!?? ) silver fox as myself.

  8. Dear Rob,

This is great, I found it very stimulating. Maybe you can be my guide to the city as these days all I seem to do is work and worry about cash flow. I have lost track of what’s going on in the city. Silver Fox, very catchy! Maybe I have made a big mistake all these years by covering up the grey! Probably could have had more fun.

  9. Love the site! It’s so pretty! I especially appreciate the quick, pithy, informative bites that accompany each of the recommendations because, as Shakespeare said, “brevity is the soul of wit”! Keep up the good work!

  10. Finally checked out your blog—how many months has it been since Lily’s bat mitzvah? I love what you are doing–and you’ve inspired me to get mine going.
And of course, it is always about the hair!

  11. Hi Robert. Nice seeing you at Toys for Tots last week. I scrolled through your blog today, all the way back to the beginning. It’s great. I don’t follow music as closely as you, but I do follow art, and i’ve been a big fan of Loretta Lux, Ryan McGinley and especially Hernan Bas for some time, so I think you have great taste !! Also a good friend of mine David Foley bought some of the gay Batman and Robin prints a few years ago and I recall reading afterwards that the gallery got sued by the owners of the copyright, so you’re lucky you were able to get them. Also, you should check out my boyfriend Sean’s blog, luxuryobsessed.com. His is of course more fashion oriented than yours, but there’s definitely some overlap, especially in the tote bags and boots. Hope you’re well and let’s stay in touch.

  12. Thanks for forwarding your blog. It was fun to read and gave me an insight into how “younger” people react to you and the city and all it has to offer. Keep up the good work!

  13. Hey there Robert !

  15. hey, Robert– Love the blog; someone recommended it to me on FB.

We just launched these free widgets on NYC ARTS. I know you have an “arts” tag/category, so feel free to use one of the widgets for free dynamic content on your blog. You can get it here: http://www.nyc-arts.org/widget

also, of course it would be amazing if NYC-ARTS.org were on your blog roll. (a guy can dream, right?)

  16. Where are you? Not much blog action lately.
