YOU PAYED FOR THOSE HOLES!!

Yes I did, and I’m proud of it!  This is not the first time either. Denim with holes and rips have come and go in fashion and now their back. I recently found this great company Genetic Denim and they have soft denim with great new treatments. Perfect for SPRING. Air vents will help when the weather warms up. Don’t try it at home, these holes are very “strategic”. The cool factor just increased. Rip them to threads!!

“THE QUEEN IS DEAD”

I had to write this title in honor of Alexander McQueen, because it is one of my favorite  songs and albums by THE SMITHS. For some strange reason, I think Lee loved that song too. British music and British fashion is always way ahead and more creative than most. McQueen being in that category. The news was very sad to hear. Any 40 year old that ends their own life is not good news. His world of gothic design and beauty worked together to create a world we all wanted.

DIRT BAG

The winner this season for best spring 2010 fashion advertising goes to Louis Vuitton. First of all, who doesn’t love Lara Stone? I featured her in my Who Are You? section a few months ago. The Vuitton enchanted forest is filled with hope and love birds. Who knew that dirt could be this sexy! Stone cold sexy. By the way, lets get real…$3,000 handbags thrown in the dirt!! What women would do that? Anything for fashion!!

SPLURGE GALORE- GOYARD On The Go!

All my friends have been asking me for years, where I got my smart little “wallet”. All I carry is this Goyard card case with a few credit cards ,drivers license , and some handy “Silver Fox In The City” business cards. Boys, money goes in the front pocket. We don’t want large wallets that add extra weight to our worked out frames. You can also get this personalized with your initials so you know its yours at all times. I’ve had mine for 4 years now, and it gets worn and better with age. Barney’s and Bergdorfs get ready !! The boys are coming. Great for girls too. They may come in pink!

STAM BY ME

voguestam

Once in awhile I need to move away from our obsession with celebrities. My latest fix is a model on the rise, Jessica Stam. She is hot, beautiful and her name is catchy. Easy to remember and not one of the names with 10 letters in it. You will start seeing her everywhere. 10 years from now she will probably be on the big screen. So Jessica, stay with me!

CAT SCRATCH FEVER -Lanvin

kristen-mcmenamy-lanvin-fall09Halloween is coming and Lanvin has black on it’s mind. This fall campaign is so strong. Need I say more. Eye Candy. Cat Woman. Haunted Haute Couture!

Spike it up for this Halloween Season.

HIPPIE CHIC, Your Not Kidding!!

Picture 3With the return of season two of the Rachel Zoe Project on Bravo, I researched and almost died when I found out that  Zowie is as much of a Garcia fan as I am!!  I’m not talking Cherry Garcia ice cream…she mentioned her love for the Grateful Dead a few times in the first season .I will be listening to hear if she pays homage to this misunderstood band.
They are not a heavy metal band!!! She is a true bohemian hippie.
My Top Ten Dead Songs: I think Rachel may agree….
Box of Rain
China Cat Sunflower
Scarlet Begonias
Estimated Prophet
Uncle John’s Band
Friend of the Devil
Sugar Magnolia
St. Stephen
Cumberland Blues
Passenger

EDGE OF SEVENTEEN

As the start of every fashion season begins, I play this game with myself. Who wins BEST ad campaign? I’m a magazine maniac and love tearing through the pages. The fashion house that pops for me this up coming fall season is GUCCI. (Winner two seasons in a row, spring was also amazing) Their fall advertising spread is so edgy with the STICK STRAIGHT HAIRand Glitter. Black is Back with Revenge!!

P.S. I LOVE YOU. Part 2

Love comes around again for issue two. For the debut cover, this amazing new British magazine featured Beth Ditto (see my “who are you?” section). For issue two, editor and stylist Katie Grand is producing a male and a female cover. It is all about “new blood”. The decision is yours…which copy you want to sink your teeth into? I may have to buy both!

Are You Ready For The Country?

Picture 1
I’m ready to pick BLACK CHERRIES.  This “Beckman” boot at Bergdorf Goodman screams Fall 2009. I used to wear Red Wing Boots when this rugged look was popular in the early 90’s. I never knew Red Wing would move up the fashion ladder all the way to B.G.’s!  They also come in black, but the  black cherry is the way to go. Start looking for plaid and flannel. This time around fitted and fierce. No more lumber Jack…I think it is stacked heeled Jim.
