This Fall I think the best campaign goes to Burberry. I’m a sucker for shearling. I’m soooo glad I didn’t get rid of my old shearling coats. I will be marching them out of the closet this fall. The military trend is as forceful as ever thanks to Burberry. The models are so ready for action and are up for the call of duty. The duty to go to night clubs and chic parties. Will the coat check fit all these bulky coats? I have a feeling these kids won’t be checking but instead will be posing.

With a little help from my friend, he always updates me with the new “it girl”. If you remember my postings on Lara Stone, well now look at Calvin Klein’s advertising. Next goes to Freja. She is the new face in many of the fall campaigns. I instantly was head over heels in love. You know I’m a rock -n- roller and Freja has the “Keith Richard’s” look going on. Her dark care free shag is the all the rage. She is “shattered all over Manhattan”. This fall is all about Freja.

She acts like a princess with her outrageous zany costumes, but on the cover of the September Vanity Fair she became the Silver Foxcess in the City. This is a my first female silver foxcess for me to write about. Will there be others? She once again recreated herself into “my world”. I love this cover and couldn’t wait to have it. Thank you Nick Knight for taking such great photos of Gaga in the issue. The photos are gorgeous and her long silver hair shines to save all of her little monsters. She is The Silver Foxcess!

Hidden Gem- Tomas Maier

Miami, Palm Beach, and now Wainscott. My all time favorite boutique is expanding. The mix of clothes, books, accessories are so chic. You will fall over. When I walk in my head is spinning. Everything is so chic. They say it’s all in the mix. Tomas is the creative director for Bottega Venetta. His taste level certainly turned that house around. We all want some woven leather. Right! I love looking at his favorite DVD’s. Old time movies that he loves and so do I. I picked up a great little book on Helmut Newton photos as a Hamptons souvenir. At $10.00 I may have found the least expensive thing in the store. What a hidden gem. The store and the book.

Marina and the Diamonds- The Family Jewels NOW (2010)

“I am not a Robot”. Marina is so “kooky” that I love it! She is a new singer with a unique voice that I can’t even explain. This cd is soooo catchy and fun. I’m in love! Who doesn’t like diamonds? The energy is on this CD is amazing. She works so many styles and mashes it up to her own. I’m going to see her in September at Webster Hall in NYC. I know I will be jumping and singing! How much fun does that sound. It is my first fall highlight (9/2). I know I will be rich after that concert. Go get rich now with Marina.

Lene Lovich-Stateless THEN (1979)

31 years earlier. OMG I can’t believe it has been that long. One of my favorite “kooky” singers was Lene Lovich. She was my “lucky number” and “new toy”. She was before Lauper, Madonna, and the rest. She exploded on the scene with a unique voice to pop music. All I could do was dance with my crazy hand movements. I was wearing blue leopard and capezio dance shoes. Black wrap arounds and spiked hair. I think some of you have been there. After listening to Marina, all I could think of was Lene.

Hidden Gem- NUTBOX

I am a “Nut Case”…so are most of you. That is what makes us interesting. Nuts makes the world go round. I ran into this nut house on 49 East 8th Street in the Village. They also have one in the Chelesa Market and in Brooklyn. I have never seen nuts and grains look so chic. It’s all in the packaging!! Trail mix, granola, dried fruit was no longer “earthy”. It was minimal and cool. It is worth cracking this nut.

Music Maniac: ROBYN Body Talk Pt 1

Join the Robyn club! I just joined and ran to see her live at Webster Hall in NYC. This Swedish pop star can put on a non-stop cabaret of song and dance. She is sooo sweet and her voice is sooo sweet–but her beats will go through your body like a electric shock. Enough said! Her fans know every word and love to jump and dance like crazy. It is contagious. Her anthem “Dancing on my own” is a leader in strength and power. Alone time is always good and healthy. I have been “Dancing with myself” for years.

CAMO CRAZY Part II- ANDY WARHOL

It just keeps following me where ever I go.. Rush and check out Andy Warhol- The Last Decade at the Brooklyn Museum until Sept 12th. This show was a whole lot of eighties. Remember Diane Brill…. queen of the nightlife. Well she is interviewed on video as part of the show. It was great watching all the Warhol TV clips among others… Interview magazine covers galore. The first “oversized” magazine to hit the news stands. Think W, V, etc. they were all influenced by the large size format of Warhol’s Interview magazine. So totally eighties!! The art is also oversized…. Camo, Self Portraits, The Last Supper, and more. All in the most fashionable Warhol 80’s. These prints are not camouflaged!!

KOOL KIEHLS DAD

Happy Birthday Dad! How lucky am I to know that my Dad is a Kiehl’s fan. How cool! I guess it is true. Like father like son, or is it silver fox like silver fox. We both use the same shave and both have the same silver hair. Good taste runs in the family. I have been using this shave cream for over 10 years. It is the best ! Keep on being young and cool. Your the best!!
